The Siam’s Kingdom of Ayutthaya (or Ayothaya) existed from 1350 to 1767. During its glorious time, it grew to be one of the world’s largest centre of global commerce and cosmopolitan societies. It attracted foreign traders who set sail for Ayutthaya from all different regions: Arabia, China, Japan, India, Portugal, or France; and was then described as one of the wealthiest cities in the East. It also became the centre of Buddhism, with a vast numbers of grand temples. Our Ayothaya is inspired by this gilded age of trading and flourishing Buddhism. Reinterpreted via the use of sacred incense, spices, wood and flowers, ‘Ayothaya’ recreates a unique impression, derived from the golden, monumental age of Siam, which is still being celebrated till today.
